About
Chris Weiss was born and raised in Floral Park, NY, to an artistic family. The middle of three children, he would eventually be immersed in the performing arts, starting at the age of 6 in community theatre productions such as Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and Bye Bye Birdie (Randolph). He also took up music and dance alongside his older sister, a musician.

At Holy Trinity High School, Chris was one of only 60 students accepted into the nationally recognized theatre department where he performed in shows such as The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Big River, and Grease. He also received 4 years of modern dance instruction and was active in the Select choir his senior year. During this time, he began to train himself in contortion. Chris was also inducted into the International Thespian Society (Tr. #4283), and was a recipient of the “10 Mainstage Productions” award.

Later, Chris attended Queensborough Community College, receiving his A.S. in Visual and Performing Arts. With further dance instruction in ballet and musical theatre, he was involved in the productions The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh (Michal) and Outrageous: One Acts by Miguel Pinero. On the side, Chris also performed with the now defunct Broadhollow Theatre Company, primarily as a dancer, in musicals such as Sweeney Todd, and My Favorite Year. He later portrayed the role of Bud Frump in How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.

After a transfer to Brooklyn College where he earned his B.A. in Theatre, he received further education in costuming, set construction, and acting. He also took a vocal technique class focusing on the Chuck Jones vocal warm up. Chris was cast in a production of Camino Real by Tennessee Williams, a rarity for B.A. students in a field reserved for the BFA and MFA acting students.

Currently, Chris is a Long Island based performer, working with various companies, most frequently with Plaza Theatrical Productions. With Plaza, he has been able to work in children’s theatre such as Dora the Explorer, Pinkalicious, and recently Junie B. Jones, as well as mainstage shows such as The Producers and La Cage aux Folles. He has had the opportunity to perform at venues such as the Millennium Theatre in Brooklyn and the St. George theatre in Staten Island.
In addition, Chris performed regularly at the former West End Lounge as part of the Campy Cabaret series from 2016 to 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chris participated in a remotely-filmed version of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog (as recreated by Patrynize Productions), taking on the challenge of portraying three people and harmonizing with himself.

Recently, Chris has also been working in film and television as a background actor, appearing in programs such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon), Gotham (FOX), and The OA (Netflix). Chris also appeared in Younger (TV Land), utilizing his makeup skills for the role of an anime schoolgirl. In November 2017, Chris was initiated into the Screen Actor's Guild.

Chris is available for acting jobs around the NY area, for stage and film/television (SAG-AFTRA). He is also a self-taught wig stylist and an excellent hand stitcher. Chris is also available for modeling jobs.
